Aaryan Shukla, a 14-year-old mathematics prodigy from Maharashtra, India, has achieved an extraordinary feat by breaking six Guinness World Records in mental mathematics in just one day. The event, hosted by Guinness World Records in Dubai, showcased Shukla’s remarkable ability to perform complex calculations mentally at lightning speed, earning him the nickname “Human Calculator.”

Record-Breaking Performance Stuns Observers

In an impressive display of mental prowess, Aaryan Shukla broke multiple records for mental calculations during the Dubai competition. His achievements include the fastest time to mentally add 100 four-digit numbers in just 30.9 seconds, beating the previous record by a significant margin. He also set new world records for mentally adding 200 four-digit numbers in 1 minute and 9.68 seconds, and for adding 50 five-digit numbers in only 18.71 seconds.

The young mathematician didn’t stop there. He went on to set three more records: the fastest time to mentally divide a 20-digit number by a ten-digit number in 5 minutes and 42 seconds, the fastest time to mentally multiply two five-digit numbers in 51.69 seconds, and the fastest time to mentally multiply two eight-digit numbers in 2 minutes and 35.41 seconds.

“This achievement represents years of dedicated practice and mental discipline,” said a Guinness World Records representative present at the event. “What Aaryan accomplished today would be challenging for most people using calculators, let alone performing these calculations mentally.”

A Rising Star in Mental Mathematics

This is not Aaryan Shukla’s first entry into the record books. Approximately a year ago, he set his first Guinness World Record on an Italian TV series called “Lo Sho Dei Record,” where he recorded the fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers in 25.19 seconds. His latest achievement in Dubai saw him improve on this record, completing the same task in just 18.71 seconds.

Shukla’s exceptional abilities have earned him recognition beyond the competition circuit. He serves as one of the founding board members of the Global Mental Calculators Association (GMCA), an international organization dedicated to bringing together mental calculation experts from around the world.

The Secret Behind Mental Mathematics Mastery

Following his record-breaking performance, Shukla revealed insights into his calculation methods. When asked to explain what happens in his mind during these rapid calculations, he said, “A lot of things in mental calculations happen in a flash of a second, so I cannot say what happens inside my head; I just do it naturally. It’s so fast that you can’t think; you just need to do the calculations.”

The technique Aaryan Shukla uses has a name – “Flash Anzan.” This method involves processing numbers flashing on a screen at extremely high speeds. The foundation of this technique is the abacus, a traditional calculating tool. Shukla disclosed that he has been training for eight years to master this method.

Daily Practice and Disciplined Routine

Behind Shukla’s seemingly effortless calculations lies a rigorous training routine. He practices mathematics for five to six hours daily to maintain his mental sharpness for competitions. Additionally, he credits Sahaja Yoga meditation with helping him remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations.

“Daily practice is one of the important aspects to prepare for competitions,” Shukla told Guinness World Records after his achievement. Despite his intense practice schedule, he still finds time for typical teenage activities like reading and playing video games.

Recognition from Business Leaders

Aaryan Shukla’s extraordinary abilities have caught the attention of prominent business leaders. Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, expressed his amazement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Mahindra described Shukla’s achievement as something that “leaves you dazed and bewildered.”

The industrialist also inquired about the technique Shukla uses, noting his interest in learning the fundamentals not to break records but to apply them to “simple, daily business calculations.” In response, Shukla explained his Flash Anzan technique and the years of training behind his success.

Family Background and Natural Talent

Despite Shukla’s exceptional mathematical abilities, his family describes themselves as ordinary. His father commented, “We are a normal family. Aaryan is a one-in-a-billion kind of person, but I don’t think that we are a family of mental calculators.”

This statement highlights the unique nature of Shukla’s talent, suggesting his abilities stem from a combination of natural aptitude, dedicated practice, and specialized training rather than a family predisposition toward mathematical skills.

The Future of the “Human Calculator”

At just 14 years old, Aaryan Shukla has already established himself as one of the world’s premier mental mathematicians. His involvement with the Global Mental Calculators Association positions him to contribute to the field beyond competitions, potentially helping to develop training methods for others interested in enhancing their mathematical abilities.

The technique he uses, Flash Anzan, has generated interest not only from business leaders like Mahindra but also from parents wondering if such methods could help their children develop similar skills. While the technique provides a structured approach to mental calculation, Shukla’s level of achievement demonstrates the importance of both natural ability and consistent practice.

A New Benchmark in Mental Mathematics

Aaryan Shukla’s remarkable achievement in Dubai sets a new benchmark in the world of mental mathematics. His ability to perform calculations that would challenge electronic calculators demonstrates the untapped potential of the human mind when properly trained and focused.

As the youngest person to achieve this level of success in mental mathematics competitions, Shukla serves as an inspiration to young mathematics enthusiasts worldwide. His story illustrates how dedication, proper technique, and daily practice can develop extraordinary abilities, even at a young age.

Through his unprecedented achievement of breaking six world records in a single day, Aaryan Shukla has earned his place in the Guinness Book of World Records highlighted India’s growing prominence in producing mathematical talent on the global stage.
