PureHealth launches AI-powered diagnostic laboratory in Abu Dhabi. This new facility, a subsidiary of PureLab, processes over 30 million samples each year.
Key Facility Details
The 70,000-square-foot lab spans seven storeys and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It uses artificial intelligence, robotics, and top UAE systems for sample transport and automation. A team of 1,300 expert consultants handles more than 1,800 tests in areas like anatomic pathology, molecular genetics, blood disorders, transplant matching, infectious diseases, and environmental checks. His Excellency Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, opened the site. It has room to grow and meets rising needs in public and private healthcare.
Smart Tech Integration
The lab features an AI digital pathology system with Whole Slide Imaging. This turns glass slides into clear digital pictures for quick checks on disease signs. It links cancer centers across the country for instant online talks between doctors. As the main hub for PureLab’s 140-plus labs with over 50 global accreditations, the AI-powered diagnostic laboratory cuts costs and simplifies testing for providers.
Green and Community Steps
The site uses eco-friendly tools like hybrid vehicle fleets, digital reports without paper, special window films to save energy, and solar panels on the roof. These steps match the UAE’s plans for zero emissions. It offers walk-in tests, home collection trials, and supports key programs for baby health checks, disease tracking, and organ transplants. PureLab CEO Arindam Haldar says it raises standards in quality, AI use, and easy access for better health data systems.
PureHealth’s Strong Position
PureHealth ranks as the Middle East’s top healthcare group and MENA’s only full payor-provider setup. In the first nine months of 2025, it earned AED 20.1 billion in revenue, a 6 percent rise from last year. EBITDA hit AED 3.5 billion, with margins at 17.3 percent. Major parts include Daman insurance for over 3 million users, SEHA’s 14 hospitals and 46 clinics, and operations in the UK, US, Greece, and Cyprus.
Impact on UAE Healthcare
Doctors and hospitals gain faster results from this central lab, which handles complex tests in one place. The setup reduces wait times and errors through AI tools that spot issues early. For patients, this means quicker diagnoses and better care plans, especially in busy areas like oncology and transplants. PureHealth builds on the UAE’s push for smart health tech, drawing global talent and investments to lead in precision medicine.
Future Growth Plans
The lab plans to expand services with new AI features for predictive testing and data sharing. PureLab aims to connect more clinics nationwide, boosting efficiency in routine checks and rare disease hunts. This move supports Abu Dhabi’s goal to top global health rankings by 2030, with a focus on local jobs and training for tech skills. Overall, the AI-powered diagnostic laboratory strengthens the UAE’s role as a health innovation hub in the region.
