LG lugar de gente acquires Moavi for AI workforce tools

LG lugar de gente acquires Moavi to strengthen its HR technology offerings. This acquisition integrates AI-driven workforce management into LG’s platform, targeting retail and other labor-heavy sectors.

Deal Overview

LG lugar de gente, a leading HR tech provider in Brazil, completed its seventh acquisition by purchasing Moavi on January 7, 2026. The deal grants LG control of the company, with an option for full ownership later. Moavi’s six partners, including founder and CEO Victor José Guerra, continue to manage daily operations. LG expects Moavi to contribute around R$14 million to its EBITDA this year, though exact financial details stay private.

Moavi’s Core Technology

Moavi specializes in smart scheduling software powered by AI and machine learning. Its algorithms review sales data and employee availability to produce weekly work schedules that follow labor laws. This approach cuts overtime costs, lowers legal risks, and improves staff productivity. Major clients like Pague Menos, Carrefour, Assaí, GPA, and Marisa rely on Moavi. The platform now handles over 6,100 retail stores, 131,400 workers, and 1.2 million schedules.

Benefits of Integration

LG lugar de gente acquires Moavi to connect workforce scheduling with time tracking and payroll systems. This creates a single HR platform that reduces manual work and data silos for better decisions. Managers gain clear insights into staffing needs amid talent shortages. The combined solution targets retail first, then expands to healthcare, logistics, facilities, call centers, hotels, and aviation starting in 2026.

Revenue and Market Potential

Moavi reported 85% revenue growth in the past year, fueling its appeal. LG closed 2025 with over R$400 million in revenue and more than R$100 million in EBITDA. The company forecasts R$500 million in revenue and R$140 million in EBITDA for 2026. Cross-selling to LG’s 2,200 clients, including over 500 in retail, unlocks R$40 million in recurring revenue. The total addressable market reaches R$4.6 billion, with R$120 million from large retailers alone.

Leadership Perspectives

Felipe Azevedo, CEO of LG lugar de gente, views workforce management as HR’s next big shift. He stresses that predicting staff needs gives companies a key edge in competitive markets. Luigi Pizzichemi, LG’s M&A director, highlights a three-year partnership that led to this acquisition after Moavi hit growth milestones. Victor Guerra sees the move as a fast track for Moavi into new industries with similar scheduling challenges.

This acquisition positions LG Lugar de gente as a top player in Brazil’s HR tech space. Businesses gain efficient tools to manage modern workforces, driving cost savings and operational gains across sectors.
