Riyadh Construction Exhibition 2025

The Arab City Construction and Green Building Materials Exhibition, at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, has cemented its place as a crucial annual meeting for the industry in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. Over three days, public and private sector leaders, engineering specialists, materials suppliers, and technology innovators gathered to share strategies and showcase advances in urban development and green construction.

Riyadh at the Forefront of Middle East Construction

As host of the event, Riyadh highlights its rapid evolution, driven by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This government-led plan allocates almost $1.1 trillion for infrastructure and real estate, positioning the Kingdom as the largest construction site in the world. According to official figures, the value of Saudi Arabia’s construction market stood at $34.46 billion in 2023 and is poised to top $42 billion by 2028, with infrastructure projects forecasted to contribute at least $100 billion to the nation’s GDP by 2025.

International Collaboration and China’s Expanding Role

The exhibition echoes the strong economic and strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and China. Backed by government and financial agencies such as the Saudi Ministry of Construction and major banks, the event underscores Riyadh’s openness to foreign collaboration and investment. Chinese contractors, including Sinopec, China Railway Construction, and others, now lead many mega-projects. Bilateral trade surpassed $116 billion in 2022, a 33% year-on-year jump and a clear sign of deepening ties, powered partly by joint ventures on signature infrastructure, tourism, and urban projects.

Comprehensive Industry Scope

New urban infrastructure: water management, bridges, roads, urban lighting, and environmental protection solutions.

Smart city technology: IoT platforms, digital controls, networked urban management, and data-driven planning.

Green building: advanced insulation, prefabricated structural systems, steel, modular components, and eco-friendly building materials.

Construction equipment: machinery, automation, cable networks, and safety devices.

Building and decoration: materials for flooring, waterproofing, facades, modular furniture, and intelligent home accessories.

Seawater desalination and water management: treatment plants, pipelines, valves, sensors, and environmental monitoring equipment.

Saudi Arabia’s Push for Innovation

The 2025 edition placed exceptional emphasis on building resilient, sustainable urban systems. With upcoming international sporting and cultural events, the 2027 Asian Cup, 2029 Asian Winter Games, and 2030 World Expo, Saudi Arabia must accelerate not only construction but also infrastructure innovation.

Business Networking and Tailored Services

In addition to product displays, the exhibition offered tailored B2B matchmaking, investment forums, and technical workshops. Delegates benefited from personalized consulting and on-the-ground support, connecting overseas suppliers and local developers for potential partnerships. Organizers, notably Shanghai Dongsha Touneng Exhibition Service Co., Ltd, played an active role in facilitating productive dialogue across the sector.

The Arab City Construction and Green Building Materials Exhibition marks a pivotal point for stakeholders in the Middle East, signaling new commercial opportunities in a rapidly developing region. This year’s event not only showcased engineering prowess and technological ingenuity but also reinforced the importance of cross-border cooperation, green innovation, and resilient infrastructure in shaping the cities of tomorrow.
