Al Habtoor Unveils Fuso eCanter for UAE Logistics

Al Habtoor Motors launches Fuso eCanter UAE model, the fully electric truck built for city deliveries. The firm serves as Fuso’s sole distributor in the UAE and rolled out this next-generation version at Al Habtoor Polo Resort in Dubai. Customers, partners, and industry experts joined for on-site test drives of its zero-emission performance.

Launch Event

Organizers chose the theme “The Future of Commercial Mobility Electrified” for the event. Fleet operators and stakeholders experienced the truck’s smooth handling in real conditions. Ahmed Khalaf Al Habtoor, CEO of Al Habtoor Motors, highlighted the launch as a key move toward sustainable transport solutions. He stressed its fit with the UAE’s green transport goals and the demand for efficient, clean vehicles in daily operations.

Key Specifications

The Fuso eCanter UAE truck features eAxle technology, where the electric motor integrates directly into the rear axle. This design reduces parts count, maximizes cargo space, and improves efficiency on short urban routes. Battery options follow a modular system with short, long, or XL wheelbase configurations to match specific route distances and payload needs.

Gross vehicle weights span from 4.25 to 8.55 tonnes, with flexible wheelbase lengths for varied tasks like deliveries or services. Cab choices include a standard 1,695 mm width or a wider 1,995 mm for better maneuverability in crowded streets and added driver comfort. Charging works with both AC and DC systems using the CCS standard. DC fast charging restores the battery from 20% to 80% in just 24 to 39 minutes, based on the battery size selected.

Operational Versatility

A built-in Power Take-Off (PTO) system connects to add-ons like tippers, cranes, or refrigerated units. Businesses maintain their full range of functions while switching to electric power. Engineers refined the truck using five years of customer data and over 8 million kilometers of emission-free driving in markets like Europe and Japan. Updates ensure it thrives in Middle East climates with high heat and intense daily use.

Company Background

Al Habtoor Motors also distributes Mitsubishi Motors, JAC, JBM Buses, Bentley, Bugatti, Pagani, Rimac Automobili, and Czinger across the UAE. As a key arm of the Al Habtoor Group, a major UAE conglomerate with stakes in engineering, real estate, hotels, and more, the company drives wider adoption of electric trucks. The Fuso eCanter UAE model positions urban logistics for immediate, low-emission operations that cut costs and meet regulations.
