Abunayyan-Nextpower Joint Venture Boosts Solar Manufacturing

Nextpower Arabia joint venture launches as Abunayyan Holding and Nextpower finalize their partnership. The two companies create this new entity to build solar tracking systems right in Saudi Arabia. This step boosts renewable energy projects across the Middle East and North Africa region.

Advanced Factory Under Construction

Workers build a large factory on a 42,000-square-meter site in Jeddah. The plant opens in the second quarter of 2026. It produces Nextpower’s complete line of solar tracking systems. These systems help solar panels follow the sun for better energy output.

The facility reaches a production capacity of 12 gigawatts per year. It creates 600 direct jobs at the site. The supply chain adds up to 2,000 more positions overall. The partners source key materials like steel from local Saudi suppliers. This effort trains engineers and technicians in the Kingdom. Local production cuts costs and speeds up delivery for regional projects.

Leaders Share Their Vision

Khalid Abunayyan, Chairman of Abunayyan Holding, says easy access to clean energy drives economic and social growth. Dan Shugar, founder and CEO of Nextpower, calls Saudi Arabia a top market for their expansion plans. Turki Al-Amri leads both Abunayyan Holding and the new Nextpower Arabia. He points out that the factory has started a plan to build a strong local solar supply chain. This supports Saudi Vision 2030 goals for industry growth and diversification.

Proven Track Record in Solar

Abunayyan Holding brings real experience to Nextpower Arabia. The company supplied solar tracking systems for key Saudi solar farms. These include the 405-megawatt-peak Sakaka Solar Park, the country’s first big utility-scale project. Other successes cover the 1,170-megawatt-peak Al Kahfah project, 449-megawatt-peak Tabarjal project, and 450-megawatt-peak Sudair project. This history positions the joint venture for more wins.

Solar Growth in the Region

The Middle East Solar Industry Association predicts solar capacity will top 180 gigawatts by 2030. Lower costs and better technology speed up adoption. Governments push clean energy strategies hard. Nextpower Arabia helps Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program meet targets. The partners expect to fund the venture with about $88 million.

Abunayyan Holding has 75 years of experience in water, energy, and infrastructure. It serves local and regional markets with full solutions. NextPower trades on Nasdaq as NXT. The firm designs solar tech for structures, electronics, and software. It works with top energy companies worldwide. Together, they aim to deliver efficient, reliable solar power faster.

This joint venture strengthens the solar supply chain. It creates jobs and skills. Regional demand for clean energy rises fast. Nextpower Arabia meets that need with local manufacturing.
