Imagine driving down a quiet road in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, when suddenly, your car starts humming the iconic notes of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. No, it’s not your radio or a low tire—this is the Fujairah Musical Road, a 750-meter stretch of Sheikh Khalifa Street that’s turning everyday commutes into a symphonic adventure. Launched in June 2025, this innovative project is the first of its kind in the UAE and the Arab world, and it’s already making waves online and beyond. A Road That Sings Located just before the Fujairah Police Headquarters, the Fujairah Musical Road is a marvel of engineering and artistry. As cars travel over specially designed rumble strips at a steady speed of about 105 km/h, the vibrations from the tires create musical notes that play a portion of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The result? A drive-through concert that’s delighting drivers and passengers alike. The project was spearheaded by the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy, which aimed to blend art with everyday life. “We believe that music is a universal language capable of creating exceptional moments even while driving,” said Ali Obaid Al Hafiti, Director General of the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy. This vision has transformed a mundane stretch of asphalt into a cultural landmark, showcasing Fujairah’s commitment to creativity and innovation. How the Fujairah Musical Road Works The secret behind the Fujairah Musical Road lies in its rumble
