ADNOC Drilling Company has announced a groundbreaking achievement with a $733 million contract from ADNOC Offshore for the construction of three AI-enhanced island drilling rigs. Operational Excellence and Design Features

Operating on existing and newly constructed artificial islands at the Zakum field, these AI-enhanced rigs will facilitate extended reach drilling (ERD), enabling the drilling of some of the world’s longest wells from offshore platforms near Abu Dhabi’s coast. Notably, recent achievements include wells exceeding depths of 52,000 feet, showcasing the rigs’ advanced capabilities.

Tayba Abdul Rahim Al Hashemi, CEO of ADNOC Offshore, highlighted the strategic importance of this contract in enhancing ADNOC Drilling’s technical capabilities to meet global energy demands sustainably. Financial Projections and Fleet Expansion

With a projected capital expenditure of approximately $210 million, these new island rigs are expected to generate revenue starting in 2027. ADNOC Drilling remains optimistic about its 2024 revenue guidance of $200-250 million for the Island rig segment, reflecting confidence in current fleet performance and future growth prospects.
